Aaron de Mey presents his first Fall make-up collection. An Indigo colour statement highlighted with glints of gold and red.
« You can only create something new if you free yourself from codes and break down barriers. And that’s what I’m interested in doing ». The tone is set: in his first Fall make-up collection for 2009, Aaron de Mey, Lancôme Artistic Director for make-up, boldly states his craving for freedom and irreverence.
In his typically brilliant and rebellious style, make-up artist Aaron de Mey has built Declaring Indigo, his fall collection, like a tribute to the free spirit of Parisians, such as is expressed by the courage of
Simone de Beauvoir or cheeky pout of Brigitte Bardot at the height of her charm.
Declaring Indigo is a manifesto, brimming with energy and gusto, in which pure indigo replaces the classic black to become “the new black”. It should be worn highlighted here and there with glints of dazzling gold and touches of mat, bright red.
These intense primary colours, inspired by Paris city’s coat of arms, can create both triumphantly sophisticated looks and more natural looks highlighted with glints. This very « new French Revolution » spirit combines elegance and irreverence. And successfully reinvents the image of an attractive, determined Parisian woman, without sacrificing her indomitable free spirit.
