HOW TO RECYCLE YOUR LANCÔME PRODUCTS
We are reducing our carbon footprint by optimizing our packaging and formulas. Here at Lancôme, we are reducing the material we use by 20%, from now through 2025. This page explains everything you need to know about recycling your Lancôme favorites. However, it is always important to validate with your municipal recycling program. Conditions under which different items get recycled can vary per city.
WHAT’S RECYCLABLE?
Recycling bins can generally handle paper, glass, metal and plastic bottles. Conditions unde which different items get recycled can vary per city.
Recycle #1 (PET) plastic bottles
Plastic # 1 (PET) bottles are recyclable once emptied, cleaned and disassembled. Their caps should be disposed of separately in a garbage household bin. Look for the chasing arrows triangular symbol on the back of the bottle.
Recycle glass bottles
Glass bottles are recyclable, so long as the instructions on the package are followed. As for accessories on the bottle (i.e. pumps, sprayers, droppers & caps) dispose separately if they are not glass. Always confirm that your local recycling program accepts all colors of glass.
WHAT’S DISPOSABLE?
Items such as lipsticks, make-up cases, mascaras, sachets, plastic tubes and non-recyclable plastics should be sorted into a garbage household bin. When in doubt, throw out the item. Aspirational recycling can lead to contamination of the recycling stream.
Dispose of atypical containers
Some of our products are housed in small makeup packaging or non-recyclable materials that can’t be disposed of. These products belong in a garbage household bin.
